Mini-Golf with Frederica Academy

Mini-Golf Course in Neptune Park on St. Simons Island
The Frederica Academy golfers will join our families for a fun game of mini-golf! The Triumph Foundation will provide one round of mini-golf (for kids only). If you'd like, you can make a $1 donation towards your game, but there is no required fee to play! We will also have snacks and drinks for all to enjoy. Special Guest - Nella Uitvlugt is Executive Director of Friendship Ministries. She has a degree in special education, is immediate past president of the Religion & Spirituality Division of the AAIDD, and serves on the leadership team of the NCCC Committee on Disabilities. In 2009 Nella was presented with the Christian Service Award from Bethesda Lutheran Communities in recognition of her work. Nella does extensive consulting with congregations throughout North America, helping them to nurture the spiritual gifts of people with intellectual disabilities.

Family Night - Support Group / Workshops for the following:
- Children diagnosed with Autism - ages 6 and older
- Children diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome - ages 6 and older
- Siblings of children diagnosed with Autism
- Parents and or guardians of children diagnosed with Autism
Ages six and older are invited to attend. Childcare will be available for siblings under the age of six. Please let us know ages of siblings and if the siblings have special needs prior to the event. If you are a parent with a special needs child under the age of six and would like to attend, please R.S.V.P. prior to the event. Meetings will be held at C.I.A. Sports Club the first Thursday of each month (Sept - May). 5pm - 7pm. Dinner will be served. Alternative sites may be used during winter months (Dec - Feb). We ask that you please call (912) 638-7100 to R.S.V.P. for Family Nights so we can plan accordingly for dinner and childcare.
Social/Support Groups (small): 4-5 participants per group. Sessions last 4 weeks; $25 per session. These groups are designed to give more individualized attention to participants than is allowed during our Family Night Events.
1st Annual Tri-Cycling Events: three cycling events for the entire family - all skill levels
- Adult Cycling Event: date TBA; Coastal Scenic Ride
- Lose The Training Wheels: date TBA
A Walk In The Park For Autism: Saturday, April 28, 2012; begins at Mallery Park at 10:00 am. Event will be held the last Saturday in April each year.
Summer Camps and activities for 2012 will be announced spring of 2012
Picnics in the Park: Picnics held throughout the year at local parks for families and friends touched by Autism.
Other events will be added monthly.
